This 47-year-old marketing consultant presented with multiple spider veins associated with blue underlying veins (reticular veins) and was treated with MSc and ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy (UGS).
There were also varicose veins bulging on the inner side of the left knee. A total of two UGS and two MSc treatments were given, which improved the appearance of the legs significantly. Treating the underlying veins with UGS provides the additional benefit of a reduction in the likelihood of surface vein recurrence. There is approximately a 1 in 5 chance that additional treatment will be required over the next 3 years.
